CJE SeniorLife is asking family caregivers of all ages and situations to tell us their caregiving stories and help others find strength, support, and even practical advice through your experiences.
Caring for a loved one is difficult and rewarding, complicated and demanding. Caregivers often exhaust their spiritual, emotional, physical and financial reserves. Every caregiver experiences highs and lows, from humorous moments to challenging decision-making in times of crisis.
Sharing your story with others widens the caregiving circle and offers you an opportunity to express yourself while helping others cope with the joys and frustrations of caregiving.
What have you learned? How have you grown? What was your most trying situation? What was the most gratifying? What kind of support did you receive from family, friends and your community? How did you take care of yourself? What resources and tools did you find helpful?
Tell us your thoughts, memories and stories… see guidelines for submissions below.
Send your submissions of any length to firstname.lastname@example.org. Please include your name and contact information in the body of your email. Photos of you and/or the loved one(s) for whom you care are welcome. Photos should be in digital format, preferably JPG or PDF. Selected stories will be published on the CaregivingHelp.org website throughout the coming year.
By submitting an entry, participants warrant that the story is original. Participants agree to permit CJE SeniorLife to use your story and name (first name only, if preferred) for publicity purposes, not limited to publication in CJE SeniorLife’s promotional materials and websites, including www.caregivinghelp.org, www.cje.net and www.mypainmanagement.net.
